 Alice Mae Hewlett, age 72 of Van Lear, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at her residence.

Born November 12, 1950 in Johnson County, she was the daughter of the late Otis Bowling and Bethel Booth Bowling. In addition to her parents, Alice is preceded in death by one daughter, Lora Hewlett; one brother, Clayton Bowling; and one sister, Jackie Dollarhide.

She is survived by her loving husband, Thomas E. Hewlett; two daughters, Lenore and Rick Chambers of Crittenden, Kentucky and Beverly Moore of Flowood, Mississippi; two brothers, William (Wendy) Bowling and Terry (Janet) Bowling both of Wabash, Indiana; five sisters, Bertha Henry of North Carolina, Lucille Webb and Ida Sparks both of Wasbash, Indiana, Brenda Blankenship of Van Lear, Kentucky and Evelyn (Greg) Hazelett of Hager Hill, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Cody (Alexis) Chambers, Laken (Jesse) Howard and Tori Moore; and two great grandchildren, Brody Bowling and Makenna Howard. Also surviving is a special uncle and aunt, Carl and Hester Bowling, also called maw and paw by Alice.

Funeral services will be held 12:00pm Saturday, February 11, 2023 at the Van Lear Freewill Baptist Church (2687 Ky Rt. 302 , Van Lear, Kentucky). Burial will follow in the Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville, Kentucky. Friends may visit the church from 5:00pm to 8:00pm Friday and after 10:00am Saturday. Roger Hill will officiate.
