A man out of Claiborne County is now facing charges following two incidents involving an underage girl.

 

65-year-old Terry Cupp, of Tazewell, was arrested by the Middlesboro Police on Wednesday.

 

Cupp is alleged to have sent messages that were sexual in nature to a 12-year-old in November of 2021. Police say the girl told Cupp to leave her alone, to which Cupp replied with an apology message the next day.

 

Cupp was also accused of touching the same girl in an inappropriate manner when she was 11.

 

He is now facing charges of prohibited use of an electronic device to procure a minor and sexual abuse.

 

He is currently being held in the Bell County Detention Center.
