A man out of Floyd County is said to have been arrested following accusations he showed up on a stranger’s porch in his underwear, waving a shotgun.
Officials with the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office were called to the residence on Cane Fork Road. The residents there are said to have reported that 30-year-old Jordan Ward, of Martin, knocked at their door, wearing only his underwear and a blanket, while making the claim that he had been beaten.
The home’s occupants saw the shotgun and proceeded to lock the door and told the man to leave.
Upon their arrival, deputies discovered Ward passed out in the back seat of a car, wrapped in the blanket, and with the shotgun sitting in the seat beside him. The gun is said to have been loaded with the firing hammer cocked.
Ward was arrested on charges of wanton endangerment, trespassing and public intoxication, in addition to an outstanding warrant.
