A crash that happened early Friday morning in Knott County has left one person dead.

According to officials, the crash occurred early this morning in Mallie near Wolfpen Creek Road.

Knott County Coroner Corey Watson confirmed that it was a 40 year old woman who died but did not reveal the identity of the victim.

The car that the victim was driving was the only vehicle involved in the incident. The woman’s body was sent for an autopsy in Frankfort.

The incident is currently under investigation.
