A man in Johnson County was recently arrested on charges of drug trafficking within 1,000 feet of an elementary school.

46 year old Dale Bowen of Leander was arrested on four active warrants after a Lousia police officer and Lawrence County deputy went to his room at the Budget Inn in Louisa.

When the officers entered the room, they discovered 10 grams of meth, paraphernalia, cash and trafficking materials. According to the police report, the motel that Bowen was located at is 664 feet from Louisa East Elementary School.

Along with the preexisting arrest warrants, Bowen faces new charges of trafficking meth, and other drug-related charges
