
A former director of the Whitley County Housing Authority was recently sentenced to 15 years in prison.
56 year old James R. Lovitt was recently found guilty on 10 counts of theft, 10 charges of forgery and one count of abuse of public trust.
According to court documents, Lovitt used thousands of dollars worth of checks that were from the housing authority for his personal use.
Lovit worked for the housing authority for 20 years, with 6 of those years as director.
