An update from the Whitley County Sheriff’s Department:

 

On 2/25/23, Deputy Jarrett Carr, Sheriff Bill Elliotte, and KSP Tpr. Logan Mallory responded to a residence in Corbin regarding an overdose. Personnel arrived and conducted an investigation. 

At the residence were three small juveniles under the age of 3 years, a quantity of alleged fentanyl, a registered sex offender, and the juvenile’s two parents. The overdose victim was transported to Baptist Health.

 

Matthew Dean, age 24 of Corbin, was arrested and charged with Criminal Abuse 2nd Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a minor.

 

Shandra Dean, age 23 of Corbin, was arrested and charged with Criminal Abuse 2nd Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a minor.
