Winds are expected to be between 15 to 30 MPH with wind gust between 40 to 50 MPH. Isolated wind gusts over ridgetops above 2,000 feet in southern Pike and Floyd Counties can get up to 60 MPH

These winds and storms will make it likely that several areas of the region will be without electricity, as it is expected that trees and power lines will be knocked down as a result of the winds.

It’s advised that you seek shelter and to not go outside until the winds calm down. Everyone is advised to take all the precautions necessary to keep themselves and those around them safe and to prepare to be without power.
