
A man out of Knott County, who chose to represent himself during his federal drug and gun trial, might be spending the rest of his life in prison after he was found guilty on all counts this past Thursday.
37-year-old Michael Nolan Slone, of Mousie, was charged with possession of over 50 grams of meth- with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug crime, possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number.
After hearing the closing arguments on the second day of trial. The jury at the US District Courthouse, in London, began deliberations. They are said to have returned with a verdict shortly before lunch.
Slone was also ordered to forfeit a rifle and over $3,400 in cash that were seized over the course of the investigation.
Slone will return to court on July 6th, 2023 for sentencing, where he will face a potential life-sentence.
