AN UPDATE FROM THE KENTUCKY TRANSPORTATION CABINET

LETCHER COUNTY (March 30, 2023) The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet advises motorists of two bridge replacements in Letcher County. Crews will begin construction on the Seco Drive bridge located off of KY 805 at mile point 1.8 and on the Gallop Drive bridge located off KY 588 at mile point 8.7.

Traffic along Seco Drive will need to use an alternate route for the duration of construction. Crews will begin Monday, April 3, mobilizing equipment to the site. Work is expected to take approx. 14 weeks to complete.

Gallop Drive bridge will be reduced to one-lane traffic maintained by on-site Flaggers. Crews will work from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, with some weekend work possible. Work is expected to finish in late August.

Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to pay close attention to the area’s signage and equipment parked during daytime and overnight hours.

Central Bridge has been contracted to perform the work. Work is subject to change based on weather conditions.
