A house fire that erupted in Lawrence County this morning has claimed one life.

According to Lawrence County Coroner Wes Heston, the house fire happened early this morning on 3D Road close to Fallsburg. Heston responded to a call from Lawrence County 911 concerning the fire.

Along with the coroner’s office, several other agencies arrived on the scene. The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department, Fallsburg Fire Department, Louisa Fire Department and the Kentucky State Police all responded to the call.

The victim of the fire was a woman who was pronounced dead at 1:32 am. It was confirmed that there were two people who survived the fire.

Kentucky State Police, the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office and the Lawrence County Coroner are investigating the incident.
