
A woman in Letcher County was arrested last night after police discovered meth during a traffic stop.
An officer with the Jenkins Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after they noticed the driver was speeding on Mountain Breeze Road.
A K-9 unit named Voxie was deployed and sniffed around the vehicle.Voxie alerted police on the driver door, passenger door and the trunk of the vehicle.
Police searched the vehicle and discovered meth, drug paraphernalia, controlled substances, needles and a large amount of small clear baggies and a gun. A lock box was also found that contained a pound of meth, fentanyl and other drugs.
The driver was arrested on several drug offenses and was placed in the Letcher County Jail.
