Law enforcement in Knox County found a body this morning in the parking lot of Knox Central High School.

The Barbourville Police Department responded to a call this morning concerning a body being found at the high school.

According to Police Chief Winston Tye, the cause of death is suicide. The victim was confirmed to be an adult and it’s believed they had no connection to the school as they were not a student or member of faculty and staff.

Due to the incident, today was an NTI day for Knox County Schools.
