Kentucky State Police conducting an investigation after two people who were hunting for mushrooms discovered human skeletal remains.

The remains were found Yesterday afternoon in Carter County. The remains were located over an embankment that is close to state Route 2.

Around 3 pm the day of the discovery, investigators received a call concerning the incident.

Officials with the Kentucky State Police said the remains will be sent for testing in order to make identification.
