Update from Prestonsburg City’s Utilities:

Effective immediately, and with the approval of the Kentucky Division of Water, Prestonsburg City’s Utilities Commission is lifting the boil water advisory that was voluntarily issued on May 8, 2023, due to water line break. This advisory included all customers beginning at Jarrell Fork Road along KY RT 80, turning into RT 122 of Bucks Branch and ending 1000 feet past Barnett Heights. The advisory also included any side roads and hollows in the advisory area.

The boil water advisory was issued as a precautionary measure. The waterlines have been flushed and water samples taken in the area have been analyzed by a certified lab. The lab results indicate that the water supply was not compromised and is safe for customers to use.
