The National Resources Conservation Service announced they have opened an Emergency Watershed Protection Buyout Program in Breathitt, Knott, Letcher and Perry County.

According to officials, this is an opportunity for property owners in these counties with first floor impacted during the floods that occurred in July 2022.

Those interested in applying for the program must bring a copy of deed and a PVA map of the property.

Residents in Perry County can sign up at the Perry County Conservation District, Breathitt County at the Breathitt County Courthouse, the Knott County Fiscal Court for Knott County and the Letcher County Courthouse for Letcher County.

Deadline to sign-up is June 30th.
