Update from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet:

JOHNSON COUNTY (May 23, 2023) The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet advises motorists of a daytime, extended lane closure on KY 201 in Johnson County. The work site is located at mile point 6.3 (0.3 miles North of Ky 1092) just past the intersection of Ky 1092.

Crews will begin repair work on Wednesday, May 24, and continue until Wednesday, May 31. The Contractor, King-Crete INC., work from 8 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. each day. This project will consist of drilling railroad steel, installing cribbing, and backfilling with aggregate stone to rebuild the roadway to its original state.

Motorists will experience long delays and are encouraged to use an alternate route during working hours. These delays are necessary due to the existing road’s narrow condition and the large equipment needed to perform the repair. One-lane traffic and portable traffic signals will be in place until repairs are complete
