Man in Magoffin County Charged After a Car Chase that Ended in a Cemetery

 A man out of Magoffin County is being charged with several offenses after a chase with police that ended in a cemetery.

According to police, 36 year old Matthew Joseph of Salyersville was pulled over by a deputy but when the deputy approached Joseph, he sped off. This led to a car chase that reached over 100 miles per hour.

During the chase, Joseph pulled into someone’s yard. After the chase went through the private property, Joseph eventually stopped in a small family cemetery. He then exited his vehicle and attempted to escape police on foot but was caught following a brief chase.

Joseph is being charged with wanton endangerment, fleeing or evading police, violating graves and several traffic violations.
