Man In Magoffin County Arrested for Assaulting and Strangling Wife, Allegedly Held Wife at Gunpoint

A man in Magoffin County was thrown in jail after he was accused of assaulting his wife and holding her captive.

According to officials, the Magoffin County Sheriff’s Office was notified of the situation on Monday night when the wife of 62 year old Lloyd Lemaster was able to escape and call police.

Lemaster’s wife told police that earlier in the day, Lemaster had called her repeatedly while she was at work and accused her of cheating. When she arrived back home after work, Lemaster allegedly started to hit, slap and strangle her. She couldn’t call for help as Lemaster took her phone and disabled the landline.

She also told police that Lemaster held her at gunpoint for three hours and threatened to kill her if she tried to call for help.

Lemaster was arrested for assault, strangulation, unlawful imprisonment and other charges.
