The Floyd County Sheriff’s Department is giving thanks to a teen from Hueysville who created a community service project that centered around providing officers with comforting gifts they can give children they may encounter during their duties.

17 year old Todd Prater of Hueysville was selected as a Rogers Scholar and he had to create a community service project as it is required for the scholarship.

This is what led to Prater creating Operation Drago’s Comfort, a project where he would provide law enforcement Teddy Bears that will be handed out to children. Prater managed to purchase 124 teddy bears by selling homemade dog treats.

Todd is a senior at Floyd County Central High School and is attending the Floyd County School of Innovation on the Law Enforcement Pathway.
