The American Red Cross will be conducting a blood drive at the Mountain Arts Center in Prestonsburg in honor of Deputy Sheriff William Petry, who died in the line of duty on June 30th, 2022. 

Petry’s family is asking the community and law enforcement to donate blood at the drive to honor Petry as he was a blood donor and understood the importance of blood donations.

The blood drive will be from 12 PM to 5:30 PM tomorrow in the lobby of the Mountain Arts Center. Officials are asking those who plan on donating blood to bring a photo I.D. or donor card.
