The McCreary County Sheriff’s Office and the McCreary County Coroners Office are conducting an investigation after a dead body was found on Independence Day.

According to officials, the McCreary County Dispatch was informed that a body was found on 700 Webster Road, Whitley City, KY.

Dispatch notified several agencies about the situation. Officials with the McCreary County Coroner’s Office, McCreary County Sheriff’s Office, Whitley City Fire Department, McCreary Emergency Management, and South McCreary Fire Department all arrived on the scene and were told that the body was found in a wooded area located half a mile East of the residence.

Officials were able to match some descriptions found on the scene that match a missing person case in McCreary County. Investigators believe the remains to be 38 year old Henry Stuart Lang, who was last seen Tuesday, June 13th.

The case is still under investigation.
