An Eastern Kentucky man was taken into custody after he falsely reported to police that someone was shooting at him.

28-year-old Jessie Cochran of Caney Creek Road called Kentucky State Police and notified them that two people in camouflage were at his house and were shooting at him.

According to officials, responding officers at the scene spoke to Cochran’s grandparents. Cochran’s grandparents are next door neighbors with Cochran and they told police that they didn’t hear any gunshots. His grandparents also told police that Cochran hid under cars, pretended to dodge bullets and ran around the yard.

Cochran was taken into custody for falsely reporting an incident to police, which is a misdemeanor.
