A crash that caused a kid to be dragged under a truck has led to the arrest of a woman in Letcher County.
According to Kentucky State Police, 44 year old Lisa Fields of Jenkins was driving a Chevy Silverado early Saturday morning when she crashed into a dirt bike being operated by a juvenile around 3 AM. The crash caused the juvenile to be stuck under the truck and was allegedly dragged 100 feet before fields stopped the truck.
When Fields stopped the truck, nearby witnesses managed to free the child and the dirt bike from under the vehicle. Once the child was free, Fields got into the passenger seat of the vehicle and 44 year old Audi Fields of Whitesburg allegedly jumped into the driver’s seat and attempted to drive off. They were stopped by a park overseer who blocked the road.
The child was airlifted to Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tennessee for serious injuries. Lisa Fields was arrested and charged with assault in the first degree and fleeing the scene. Fields is facing 10 to 20 years in prison.
