John Dalton, age 93 of Wayland, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2023 at his residence. He was born April 20, 1930 in Floyd County, Kentucky to the late Edward Dalton and Annie Johnson Dalton. He was the husband of the late Georgia Shannon Dalton. He was a retired coal miner. He was a miner for 40years. He is survived by his Sons: Johnathon (Valerie) Dalton of Oil Springs, Kentucky & Jeff (the late Carol) Dalton of Wayland, Kentucky; Daughters: Terri Lynn Dalton of Wayland, Kentucky, Metista (Marvin) Conley of Wayland, Kentucky, Metilda Dalton (Robert) of Wayland, Kentucky, Melissa Dalton (Bear Halbert) of Printer, Kentucky, Bonita (Kevin) Griffith of Wayland, Kentucky & Emily Dalton of Salyersville, Kentucky; Grandchildren: Brittany, Rachel, Bobby Lee, Josh, Seth, Zack & Dylan; 17 Great Grandchildren; Sister-in-law: Chirlcy Dalton; A Host of Nieces, Nephews, Family & Friends. Along with his parents and wife he was preceded in death by his Son: Eddie Ray Dalton; Brothers & Sisters: Elmer Dalton, Ballard Tackett, Sammy Tackett, Cleotis Tackett, Linda Mae Mosley, Cleoan Sammons & Helen Adkins; Grandson: Steven. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.

Visitation will begin Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at 6pm at the funeral home

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at 1pm at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, Martin, Kentucky with Marcus Wallen officiating

Burial will follow at Dalton Cemetery, Wayland, Kentucky
