A former deputy jailer in Floyd County who was convicted of misdemeanor charges was sentenced Yesterday to serve 30 days in jail.
45 year old Aaron Rounds of Garrett was charged with assault and official misconduct following his arrest in January. Rounds was accused of attacking an inmate with a weapon.
Rounds was sentenced Yesterday following an Alford plea. This plea deal means the defendant maintains his innocence but concedes due to the likelihood of the evidence leading to a conviction.
