The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet advises motorists of one-lane traffic and delays beginning this week for milling and resurfacing along KY 805 in Letcher County. Crews will begin work at mile point 9.2 in Jenkins (near the DoubleKwik station) and continue to mile point 13.6 (the Pike County line) along KY 805.
Beginning this week, parking along the shoulders in downtown Jenkins will not be permitted while the project is active. Crews will need the extra room to work safely in this busy area.
Milling started today. Asphalt operations will begin once milling is complete. The project is expected to last one to two weeks. Crews will work from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Motorists should expect delays with one-lane alternating traffic for the project’s duration. Flaggers and traffic control will be in place onsite.
Motorists should watch for signage and equipment parked near the work zone during daytime and nighttime hours. Schedules are subject to change based on weather.
