Prestonsburg City’s Utilities announced that with the approval of the Kentucky Division of Water, they have lifted the boil water advisory that was voluntarily issued on July 21, 2023, due to water line maintenance along KY RT 114. 

This advisory included all customers beginning at Prestonsburg Elementary School up to the first entrance of Dixie Drive along KY RT 114. This advisory included all side roads and hollows between these points in the advisory

 The boil water advisory was issued as a precautionary measure. The water lines have been flushed and water samples taken in the area have been analyzed by a certified lab. The lab results indicate that the water supply was not compromised and is safe for customers to use.
