ELKHORN CITY, Ky. (July 31, 2023) – The Kentucky State Police, Pikeville Post was notified just before 4:00 pm on Saturday, July 29, 2023, in reference to possible human remains discovered in the Elkhorn City community of Pike County.

The initial investigation indicates human skeletal remains were located in a stream near Cougar Drive in Pike County. The remains were removed by the Pike County Coroner’s Office and will be transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort for identification.
