Prestonsburg City Utilities Update:

Effective immediately, and with the approval of the Kentucky Division of Water, Prestonsburg City’s Utilities Commission is lifting the boil water advisory that was voluntarily issued on July 30, 2023, due to a water line break. This advisory included all customers along Old Mare Creek Road up to Cedar Dr.

The boil water advisory was issued as a precautionary measure. The waterlines have been flushed and water samples taken in the area have been analyzed by a certified lab. The lab results indicate that the water supply was not compromised and is safe for customers to use.
