Prestonsburg City Utilities Update:

Effective immediately, and with the approval of the Kentucky Division of Water, Prestonsburg City’s Utilities Commission is lifting the boil water advisory that was voluntarily issued on July 31, 2023, due to a water line break. This advisory included all customers beginning at Samons Branch along KY Rt 1426 of Prater Creek up to Jarrell Branch. The advisory also included any side roads and hollows within these two points.

The boil water advisory was issued as a precautionary measure. The waterlines have been flushed and water samples taken in the area have been analyzed by a certified lab. The lab results indicate that the water supply was not compromised and is safe for customers to use.
