Kentucky Transportation Update:

MARTIN COUNTY (August 3, 2023) – The Kentucky Department of Transportation advises motorists of a daytime closure along KY 1224 Rockhouse Rd near lower Wolf Branch in Martin County for a cross-drain replacement project. The work site is located at mile-point 4.7 (.46 miles East of KY 40) approx. 150ft from last weekend’s drain replacement.

Crews will replace a second cross drain Saturday, August 5, starting at 8 a.m. To install the drain, crews will cut across a section of Ky 1224 at the worksite location, then backfill and patch until repairs are complete Saturday at approximately 3 p.m. Once the material settles and the concrete dries, the road will re-open to traffic.

Motorists will need to use an alternate route during this time and pay close attention to signage in the area.

KYTC will perform the work. Schedules are subject to change based on weather conditions.
