Effective immediately, and with the approval of the Kentucky Division of Water, Prestonsburg City’s Utilities Commission is lifting the boil water advisory that was voluntarily issued on August 04, 2023, due to water line break in the Prater Creek area. This advisory included all customers beginning at Green Hall Branch along KY RT 1426 of Prater Creek up to, but not including, Samons Branch. This advisory included all side roads and hollows between these points in the advisory

The boil water advisory was issued as a precautionary measure. The waterlines have been flushed and water samples taken in the area have been analyzed by a certified lab. The lab results indicate that the water supply was not compromised and is safe for customers to use.
