The Johnson County School District ramped up law enforcement at its middle school.
The superintendent released a letter on the District’s website Sunday, and said a person was in custody after a threat was posted to social media. The letter says they learned about the potential threat of a school shooting at Johnson County Middle School and immediately notified law enforcement. The Johnson County Sheriff’s Department and Kentucky State Police investigated. The district noted that someone hacked a student’s social media and made the threat. They say the person responsible was identified and taken into custody.
Johnson Co. Schools say there is no danger to students or staff at the middle school or any other campus in the district.
