The woman killed in a crash involving an ambulance in Clark County has been identified.

Clark County Coroner Neal Oliver identified the woman as Deborah J. Akers, 66, of Elkhorn City. Oliver said Akers was being taken from Pikeville to UK Medical Center. The Clark County Sheriff said an EMT is recovering after being thrown from the ambulance.

Deputies said they believe the ambulance hit a guard rail before it flipped.
