The Kentucky Supreme Court will not hear the case to lower Brooks Houck’s $10-million bond, meaning Houck will stay in jail unless he pays the full cash bond. Houck is charged with murder and tampering with evidence that stemmed from the disappearance of Crystal Rogers, his girlfriend at the time, in July 2015. The Chief Justice of the court made that decision last Wednesday. Houck’s attorney, Brian Butler, has been pushing to get the bond lowered and called the amount excessive. Judge Charles Simms argued the bond is appropriate, pointing to Houck’s wealth and the charges he’s facing.
