Big Sandy Community and Technical College announced in a statement March 14 that it has been approved to offer a paramedic training program beginning in August. Building upon its existing emergency medical services curriculum, BSCTC will now provide hybrid paramedic classes, with sessions conducted one day a week, the statement said. Chris Gilley, BSCTC EMS program coordinator/instructor, said the paramedic program has the potential to enhance support within the community during critical situations.
