A Floyd County woman faces numerous charges, following a chase Friday evening. A sheriff’s deputy was patrolling in McDowell on the hunt for Rebecca Rose, 47, of Hi Hat, who was wanted on several warrants.
He spotted her driving in the area and attempted to pull her over but wrote in his report that she sped away instead. That prompted a chase down Route 122 at speeds of up to 80 mph, until Rose pulled over at her mother’s house at Hi Hat and attempted to run inside. The deputy caught up with her and used a taser to help stop her. Following her arrest, the deputy found a number of Roxicodone pills on the floor by her, then found a pouch containing five grams of fentanyl, a small amount of meth and a meth pipe.
He then went to search her car, where he found 10 grams of meth, 10 grams of a powder believed to be heroin and/or fentanyl, more than 100 Roxicodone pills and more than 100 oxycodone pills, along with scales and cash. Rose was arrested and charged with trafficking in meth, heroin, fentanyl and pills, fleeing police and other charges.
