Knott County Central High School was on lockdown as of Wednesday morning, school officials confirmed the lockdown was a precautionary measure due to a police chase in the area.

Kentucky State Police confirmed officers are searching for a suspect involved in a reported domestic violence dispute. Police said they received a call Wednesday morning about the incident. Once at the scene, which was near the high school, they found out the suspect had left.

He was reportedly carrying a firearm.
