A Floyd County man was recently sentenced to serve more than a decade in connection with several criminal charges. 35-year-old Adron Burchett, of Ivel, was sentenced in April to serve 12 years on numerous charges from cases in 2021, 2022 and 2023. Burchett’s charges include trafficking in a controlled substance (fentanyl), promoting contraband, fleeing or evading police, wanton endangerment, receiving stolen property under $10,000 and operating a motor vehicle while license is revoked/suspended for driving under the influence. Burchett was arrested in a sting operation at the Floyd County Jail on Jan. 27, 2023. He was taken into custody after attempting to smuggle drugs through the walls of the jail.
