Two arrested on drug charges

Two people were arrested on drug charges after multiple law enforcement agencies searched homes on Wednesday. According to a release from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, the Wayne County Sheriff Drug Enforcement Unit, Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, Fort Gay Police Department, and WV State Police searched multiple homes searching for Joseph Berry.

Berry was wanted on three active felony warrants related to meth distribution. Those warrants stemmed from an investigation by the Violent Crime and Drug Task Force West. Berry was found hiding in a house in Fort Gay. Police also found methamphetamine, heroin, suboxone, a digital scale, and baggies for packaging-controlled substances.
