The Prestonsburg Police Department is preparing to become the first law enforcement agency in the area to have its officers equipped with body-worn cameras, “Beginning at the end of May and first of June, every Prestonsburg police officer will be equipped with an Axon Body 4 body-worn camera that will record every single public interaction they have,” Shurtleff said. More than 70 percent of police agencies in the nation, and the vast majority in Kentucky, have body-worn camera program.
