Prestonsburg police department are asking for your help finding someone they say has been stealing people’s credit card information. Katie Picklesimer of Johnson County worked at King’s Daughters Clinic in Prestonsburg, collecting copays and fees from patients. Prestonsburg Police Department said Picklesimer has allegedly been stealing credit card information to purchase items off the TikTok shop. Picklesimer is said to have been on the run after finding out the police department was after her. Officers say if you have been to the King’s Daughters clinic and have suspicious charges on your credit or debit card reach out to them.

Four people are in jail on drug charges, after the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office responded to an overdose call and found meth and heroin. Deputies were called to a discount store at Fallsburg, where a man was said to be overdosing in the parking lot. While they were on their way, firefighters let them know that one of the men with him was trying to flee because of an outstanding warrant. The firefighters also spotted a woman in the group toss a black box under the vehicle they were in.
When they arrived on the scene, they recovered the box and found approximately 60 grams of meth. They also found a bag of heroin in the car. Police arrested all four people in the group. They include:
Joshua Lee Ratliff, 41, of Louisa, Taylor Mills Jr., 42, of Lexington, Lucille Mills, 47, of Warfield
Julian Ooten, 39, of Lenore, West Virginia. Are all charged with meth and heroin trafficking, as well as importing heroin.
Two men were sentenced in Floyd County Circuit Court on Thursday, May 2 in drug trafficking cases.
Ricky Crider, 34, was sentenced to two years in prison on the amended charge of possession of a controlled substance, first degree, 12 months in prison for possession of drug paraphernalia, five years in prison for first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, three years in prison for first-degree possession of a controlled substance, and 12 months in prison for third-degree trafficking in a controlled substance. The sentence was probated for a period of five years supervised probation and an order to complete drug court with an order to extend probation if needed for completion of drug court. The money was not seized at the time of sentencing.

Several teachers across the mountains are working to get their students involved with hands-on activities. On Saturday, dozens of teachers gathered at Floyd County Schools’ Board of Education building to participate in the National Energy Education Development (NEED) Project.
Teachers learned several hands-on activities from an energy cardboard house, solar ovens, and more. Letcher Elementary and Middle School science teacher, Sydney Stewart said with science and students constantly evolving, it is important to find new ways for students to learn.

Former Perry County Commonwealth’s Attorney Scott Blair pleaded guilty wire fraud on Friday.
Police said Blair devised a scheme to deprive Perry Countians of his honest service between April 2020 and March 2024. The court will enter a separate order setting a date for sentencing. Blair faces a maximum of 20 years in prison.
