FLOYD COUNTY, KY -The Kentucky State Police are investigating after a woman was found dead from a gunshot wound Thursday in Floyd County. Troopers received a call on October 23 about an unresponsive female at a home on East Back Street in McDowell. When officers arrived, they found Jill Howell, 34, of Prestonsburg, dead at the scene. The Floyd County Coroner’s Office pronounced her deceased, and Howell’s body was sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy. The investigation is ongoing.

 

LOUISA, KY – A woman from Crum, West Virginia, was arrested Monday during a traffic stop in Louisa, Kentucky. Police pulled over the car for a license plate issue and found Louri McKinney, 41, inside. During a search, officers discovered Fentanyl, drug paraphernalia, and pills. McKinney allegedly gave a false name before admitting her identity. She faces charges of possession of a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia, and prescription drugs not in a proper container. McKinney is being held at the Big Sandy Detention Center

 

PIKEVILLE. KY – Troopers and detectives with Kentucky State Police Post 9 are searching for Brandon Estep, who has active warrants for burglary, theft, and violating an emergency protective order. Officials are asking the public to help locate Estep and encourage anyone with information to contact Post 9 at 606-433-7711.

 

PIKE COUNTY, KY – A Pike County man has been arrested for allegedly failing to notify the Kentucky Sex Offender Registry of his change of address. Pikeville Police arrested Daniel M. Price, 43, on Tuesday after learning he hadn’t lived at his registered Betsy Layne address since August. Price is a 20-year registrant, convicted in Pike County of third-degree rape involving a 14-year-old victim. He was lodged in the Pike County Detention Center.
