Floyd County, Ky – A Hueysville man faces meth trafficking charges after a recent
traffic stop in Floyd County. Deputy David Pennington reports that on November
7, he pulled over a Ford Mustang for not using a turn signal on Goose Creek
Road. The driver, Blake Myers Edwards, age 30, allegedly tried to hide a bag of
meth in his shoe. Edwards admitted it was methamphetamine, and police say the
amount was more than two grams. He was lodged in the Floyd County Detention
Center for first-degree trafficking.

Frankfort, Ky – The federal trial for suspended Pike Circuit Judge Howard Keith
Hall began Monday in Frankfort. Hall faces charges of mail fraud and theft of
government funds, accused of paying an assistant county attorney over
$440,000 for little or no work during a 10-year period. Last month, Hall’s defense
motion to dismiss the case was denied, allowing critical evidence to be
presented. Hall has pleaded not guilty and denies any wrongdoing.

Paintsville, Ky – A Johnson County man was arrested after Paintsville Police
found him hiding under a bed during a reported burglary on Euclid Avenue.
Officer Garrett Spriggs responded on October 28 to a homeowner’s call,
witnessed a suspect fleeing, and soon discovered Joshua Baer, age 38, of
Stafford Street, hiding inside. Police say Baer refused commands and was
arrested after officers found cash, rare coins, and stolen jewelry in his
possession. He faces second-degree burglary charges and was lodged in the Big
Sandy Regional Detention Center.

Mingo County, Wv – Three people were arrested late last week for an alleged
cable theft in Mingo County, West Virginia. Police say Austin Michael Bryant of
Red Jacket, Timothy Westmoreland of Phelps, and Kisha Layne of Freeburn
were charged with destruction of public utility property, grand larceny, and
conspiracy. Troopers located the suspects with 300 to 400 feet of cut cable and
arrested them on the scene. The stolen cable is valued at $15,000. All three are
jailed on $10,000 bond each at the Southwestern Regional Jail.
