Pikeville, Ky – The City of Pikeville is updating its zoning ordinance to comply with a new state law taking effect July 1, 2026. The law, KRS 100.348, will require cities to allow certain newer manufactured homes in single‑family zones, as long as they meet specific construction and appearance standards and are treated the same as site‑built homes. City Manager Reggie Hickman says the changes won’t affect how existing homes and businesses are used but will guide future development to keep new housing compatible with current neighborhoods.

The district has denied wrongdoing and asked that the case be dismissed. On Friday, U.S. District Judge Gregory Van Tatenhove removed her lawyer, Virginia Taylor of Belfry, from the case and gave Jones 30 days to hire new counsel or represent herself.
