Perry County, Ky – Kentucky State Police have arrested a Hazard woman after an online child sexual abuse investigation. Troopers with the KSP Electronic Crimes Branch took 36‑year‑old Megan A. Combs into custody Monday afternoon. Investigators say an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children operation led them to Combs after she allegedly shared sexually explicit images of juveniles online. A search of a Hazard residence turned up electronic devices, now being examined at the KSP Forensic Lab. Combs is charged with four counts of possessing matter portraying a child under 12 in a sexual performance and is being held at the Kentucky River Regional Detention Center.

Knott County, Ky – A search group gathered Tuesday in Knott County, looking for a man who has been missing for nearly two weeks. Twenty‑five‑year‑old Sean Risner was last seen March 26 in the Big Branch community of Hindman. Family members say he was seen leaving a van in a ditch and walking toward Highway 14, and they do not know how he ended up there or where he went next. Loved ones are asking anyone in the Big Branch area to check home security cameras from 4 to 9:30 p.m. that day and contact Kentucky State Police Post 13 with any tips. A reward is being offered.

Prestonsburg, Ky – Officials with the State Medical Examiner’s Office have confirmed that a leg bone found Monday night at Dewey Lake is not human. The Floyd County Coroner’s Office says the discovery sparked a social media uproar after a 911 call reported a “human leg with shoe” at Jenny Wiley State Resort Park. Coroner Greg Nelson reviewed the remains and determined they were biological but not human, saying the bone was very old and larger than a human bone, likely from an elk or a cow. Nelson says there was a shoe on the leg when it was found but there is no clear explanation for how it ended up there.

Perry County, Ky – A Perry County man is dead after suffering burns while battling a forest fire. Officials say 47‑year‑old Paul Ray Lewis of Viper went missing Friday after going out to fight the fire. Search crews found his body Saturday. The deputy coroner says Lewis was reportedly fighting the fire on his own and was not associated with a fire department. Funeral arrangements for Lewis have not yet been announced.
