Martin County, Ky – A 19‑year‑old Beauty woman faces multiple charges after Kentucky State Police responded to a collision on Evans Hill Road in Lovely just after 1:30 a.m. on May 13. Trooper L. Layne arrested Hayden Gilman and charged her with alcohol intoxication, an open alcohol container in a vehicle, no operator’s license, no insurance, and no valid registration. The citation says Layne smelled a strong odor of alcohol on Gilman and noted slurred speech and trouble keeping her balance. Gilman allegedly told Layne her boyfriend was teaching her to drive and that she was behind the wheel when he saw police lights, told her to pull over and switch seats, then “began flying down the hill,” hitting another vehicle. Layne took Gilman to Paul B. Hall Medical Center in Paintsville for medical clearance; after she refused treatment, he transported her to the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.
