A Clay County man has been charged with murder. Kentucky State Police troopers arrested Michael Johnson, of London, Kentucky, Thursday, September 22 on several charges stemming from a fatal crash September 17. Johnson pleaded not guilty to the charges Monday. He admitted to troopers that he was high from marijuana at the time of the crash. Jessica Slover, one of two women thrown from the vehicle, died. In addition to the murder charge, Johnson is also facing charges of leaving the scene of an accident, 1st degree assault, failure of owner to maintain required insurance, failure to wear seat belts, and a parole violation. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for October 3.
