In the early morning hours of Monday, September 26, KSP Post 9 Pikeville received a 911 call of a robbery at the Zip Zone Express/ Fast Lane in Pike County. Troopers responded to the scene and determined that an unknown male entered the business armed with a gun. The man threatened the clerk with the weapon and demanded money, which he was given an undisclosed amount, and fled the scene on foot. The man was described as wearing a dark colored coat, black shorts, and a mask covering his face. The Kentucky State Police is asking the public for any information relating to this case and can be reached at 606-433-7711. Callers can remain anonymous. The incident remains under investigation by KSP Detective Kevin Newsome.
